Protests outside the Election Commission will not be hampered, the federal government said
Federal ministers have announced that the government will not stand in the way of opposition protests outside the Election Commission and it is expected that the protests will be within the ambit of law and constitution.
Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid, Law Minister Forough Naseem and Defense Minister Pervez Khattak, among others, said in a press conference that the Prime Minister wanted the religious forces to be respected here as per the announcement of the state of Madinah and we also consider religious madrassas as Pakistan's minaret.
He said that there are 562 madrassas in Islamabad and 92 of them are registered but we have no objection in registering new madrassas.
He said that all the ministerial committees have decided unanimously and Forough Naseem has given legal advice that the Election Commission is a constitutional body and under it they are going to participate in the elections.
He said that he was going to participate in the election and the assembly he was objecting to and was not making any reforms.
Sheikh Rashid said he hoped to run in the Senate elections in the first week of March.
"We expect them not to raise any issue of law and order anywhere and the Election Commission is a constitutional body where the foreign funding case is being heard," he said.
"We will not stand in their way and expect them to respect the goodwill and goodwill of the government and protest within the law and the constitution," he said.
Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry said that the present Election Commission was formed in consultation with the PPP and PML-N and this commission did not hold the last elections.
He said that if you make speeches against the army, the Supreme Court and the Election Commission and think that you are against every institution, then let any institution in the country be safe.
Federal Minister Pervez Khattak said that when these people stood in the assembly after the election and said that they would not allow the assembly to function, if they objected to rigging, the committee would not be formed until it came to the assembly.
He said that a committee headed by him gave all the questions and two meetings were held. If he had any objection, he would come to the committee and give evidence, objecting to the election without any evidence.
He said that it is so true that if there was any wrongdoing here then they should have given the record, that committee is still formed but they did not even write a letter to me.
Pervez Khattak said about the opposition that they are playing a game to spread chaos in the country otherwise they have nothing.
Federal Minister for Information Shibli Faraz said that he requested the PPP and PML-N to come and present evidence and bring receipts and answers of funding as the purpose was not to intimidate them but whatever documents were requested. They have to submit.
