The federal cabinet has approved the purchase of the corona vaccine by the federal health ministry to save lives.
According to a statement issued from the Prime Minister's House, the meeting of the Federal Cabinet was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
During the meeting, prayers were offered for the workers killed in Machh, Balochistan incident, young Osama Satti who was shot dead by police in Islamabad and martyrs of Pakistan Army.
Dr. Faisal Sultan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Health, briefed the Cabinet on the current situation of Corona epidemic.
The federal cabinet has approved the purchase of the corona vaccine by the federal health ministry to save lives.
The Cabinet also appointed the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pakistan Expo Centers Pvt. Ltd. and approved the setting up of a special committee to decide on appeals under Section 21 of the Trade Organizations Act, 2013.
This committee will only be authorized until amendments to the relevant law are completed.
The Cabinet approved the appointment of members of the Press Council of Pakistan.
The meeting also approved the setting up of an inspection committee to improve the quality of exports from the fisheries sector in the country.
The committee will inspect the fish processing plants set up in the country and includes representatives from the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, the Ministry of Commerce and the Pakistan Fisheries Exporters Association.
The Cabinet accepted the resignation of Dr. Rana Abdul Jabbar as Chief Executive Officer of the Alternative Energy Development Board and approved the formation of a selection committee for the appointment of a new CEO.
Until the new appointment, the Managing Director PPIB will oversee the agency.
The Cabinet also endorsed the decisions taken at the meeting of the Committee on Legal Cases held on December 31, 2020.
