We will ensure complete security and safety to the Hazara community, Imran Khan
Prime Minister Imran Khan has termed the killing of Hazara miners in Balochistan as a tragic incident and said that the incident dates back to the 80s when Afghan jihad started and Pakistan also took part in it and as a result sectarianism. Riots broke out.
In an exclusive interview with Turkish private channel A News in Islamabad, the Prime Minister said that religious extremist militants have now turned into the terrorist organization ISIS.
"We will assure them of complete safety and security," he said.
"Religious minorities in Pakistan have equal rights while the state has a primary responsibility to protect their rights," he said.
Imran Khan said another incident of religious hatred took place in the Karak area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where the temple was set on fire. The government took immediate action, arrested all the accused and promised to rebuild the temple.
"Western civilization has left us because Muslim countries have stopped pushing for the promotion of education," he said.
'I have seen the evolution of Islamophobia in the West'
Responding to a question on Islamophobia, the Prime Minister said, "I have seen the evolution of Islamophobia in the West. Salman Rushdie wrote a book based on blasphemy against the Prophet Muhammad, which led to a strong reaction from Muslims." That Islam is against freedom of expression.
"The West does not see or understand religion as we do, and as a result, the distance between Muslims and the West, especially in Europe, has widened," he said.
Imran Khan said that he knew more about Islamophobia than other Muslim leaders because he had lived in the West and had a family.
He said that after 9/11, the distances increased further and at the same time the trend of Islamophobia started increasing rapidly.
He said that the Jews had succeeded in explaining the meaning of the Holocaust to Western and European countries.
Imran Khan said that the Jews are united on the issue of Holocaust and because of the unity they have, there is nothing in Western society and media that hurts their feelings.
He said that when a white man killed Muslims in a mosque in New Zealand, no one even called it Christian terrorism and the Western media called him a white extremist.
The Prime Minister said that when an extremist Muslim is involved in a violent incident, the Western media associates the religion of Islam with terrorism.
'India is ruled by RSS-affected people'
Imran Khan said that at present there is a government in India which is influenced by the ideology of RSS.
He said that minorities in India are in great danger, we have an example of several violent incidents of Hindutva.
The Prime Minister said that the main reason for the deteriorating relations between Pakistan and India lies with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He said that Narendra Modi did not respond to my offer to restore bilateral relations but kept his election campaign against Pakistan.
He said that India knew that the people of Occupied Kashmir would choose Pakistan in the referendum and therefore never held a referendum.
Imran Khan said that the strategy of pitting India against China would be a big mistake.
He said that when Western countries want to make someone their ally, they do not pay attention to human rights issues.
"We have no idea what strategy the newly elected US President Joe Biden's administration will take in the case of occupied Kashmir, but we will do the same with the new administration as we did with Donald Trump on occupied Kashmir," he said.
'Joe Biden administration should only balance relations with India and Pakistan'
Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the United States had waged war against the Taliban in Afghanistan and Pakistan had paid a heavy price for it.
"All we want from the Biden administration is to balance relations with India and Pakistan," he said.
'Pakistan will not recognize Israel'
In response to a question, he said that Pakistan is not ready to recognize the Jewish state until Palestine gets justice.
"We can never acknowledge what Israel has done in Palestine," he said.
The prime minister said no one was pressured to recognize Israel and no one could.
'Covid-19 is in touch with China over vaccine'
Imran Khan said that there was no scope for lockdown in the country so he decided to have a smart lockdown and is in touch with China for covid-19 vaccines.
He said that tourism was affected from Corona but the agriculture sector was not much affected.
"We used data to lock down selected areas to control Corona," he said.
'Turkey, Malaysia support Pakistan in Kashmir'
The Prime Minister said that most of the Muslim countries of the world did not support Pakistan in the matter of Kashmir but we are grateful to Malaysia and Turkey who supported us against the Indian move regarding occupied Kashmir.
